In dit weekend dompelen we ons onder in het Werk dat Weer Verbindt van Joanna Macy. Wanneer we op een gezonde manier onze pijn voor de wereld uiten, ondervinden we dat dit een doorgang is naar een diepe verbinding met zowel de wereld als anderen en onszelf. Dit roept 'actieve hoop' in ons wakker - een hoop die inspireert om je in te zetten voor het herstel van het leven op aarde.
Zoals Joanna zegt:
"Active hope is waking up to the beauty of life on whose behalf we can act."
Active Hope
Active hope is a concept coined by Buddhist, activist and eco-philosopher Joanna Macy. In the growing chaos on earth, she came up with a way of being that does justice to what is going on and at the same time strengthens ourselves. Active hope is something we do rather than have. It is not waiting for a miraculous rescue, but a commitment to what you hope for. When our responses are guided by the intention to act for the good of our world, the mess we find ourselves in not only becomes easier to face, but our lives become more meaningful and fulfilling.
Central to active hope is the Work That Reconnects. This work aims to revive a flourishing connection with life within ourselves, with others and the more-than-human world through fully experiencing the beauty and wonder of nature, but also fully acknowledging how we feel about loss and decay. Joanny Macy developed many working methods to practice this process over and over again.

The Winter day that Reconnects

This day is an introduction to the Work that Reconnects in one day, at a beautiful location. The day consists of a collection of exercises in which we learn to see our pain around the world for what it is; a healthy expression of our ability to empathize with our world. This ability is also what connects, inspires and brings us to life.
This day is for people who want to experience the Work for the first time, and also for those who want to reconnect, deepen and keep practicing the Work that Reconnects.

De Winterdagdie Weer Verbindt

Deze dag biedt een beoefening van het Werk dat Weer Verbindt op een inspirerende locatie. We verkennen onze pijn voor de wereld als een gezonde uiting van verbondenheid en medeleven. Samen onderzoeken we hoe deze kracht ons kan voeden.
Geschikt voor zowel beginners als degenen die willen verdiepen.
WTR Facilitator Development Program
In collaboration with Manon Danker, we invite emerging facilitators for a 6-month Facilitator Development Program designed to deepen the knowledge and skills needed in offering the Work that Reconnects. The second group will start upcoming November. There is currently a waitinglist. Because of the large demand, we plan to repeat the program starting in November 2025. please subscribe to our newsletter to stay updated.

Teacher Training
In collaboration with NatureCollege, we explore and promote nature-inclusive education through events, a community of practice, and a teacher training starting October 2024 at Wageningen University (currently for WUR staff only).
Festival van de Toekomst

De Social Value Foundation vroeg ons twee korte sessies te begeleiden op het Festival van de Toekomst: het Haagse Verhaal.
Om samen met bewoners te verkennen hoe verbinding en daarmee leefbaarheid in de wijk hersteld kan worden.
Open Deuren Festival
16 januari 2025 - Amsterdam
Use/Space opende deuren van het NIO huis aan de Amsterdamse grachten. De Social Value Foundation nodigde Actieve Hoop uit om twee sessies te houden tijdens het festival.
